Unusual noise from engine bay
On three occasions the following has happened to my car MY98.
Going a little to quickly over a hump in the road, car leaves the ground (whoops!). Upon returning to tera firma(?) a whining noise is present (in engine bay), the noise increases with the engine speed. After a couple of miles the noise disappeares.
Is this serious?
Please help

Non technically minded moron having a shot in the dark....
Could it be the radio suppressor playing up?? I had a Daihatsu Charade GTTi with a dodgy supressor on the radio - this gave the same whining sound that increased with engine speed. Try turning the stereo off next time it happens.
If this does not solve the problem you could always drive slower over crests

Hello,
Another idea....
Oil Surge? When a car is driven hard especially round bends the oil sloshes around in the sump and is not picked up properly by the bits that need it. Thats why racing mods include baffels in the sump to stabalise this. It could be related to this?
Adain I stress I dont have any mechanical training etc, its just an idea.
I would strongly reccomend a visit to the dealer to sort this out as it could all go pop.
Bye,
Dave.
