Wee bit of help/advice

Just discovered this earlier this morning, but during the process of moving my car out of the drive to leave the bin out, I came across the drivers mirror pointing in the wrong direction.
Been driving my girlfriends car since Saturday and all was well, I know for a fact that the car was OK on Monday night as I had to get something from it, but now she's been abused by something probably resembling a turd!
I don't know if it can be fixed, its not broken off, but just moves freely forwards & backwards.
If it can't be fixed, I guess it will be expensive to replace as its an STI7, and the mirrors are heated etc.
