No Evo 6.....but mabye another (Euro import) scooby?
#1
First a moan about Ralliart UK through which I ordered my Evo 6 last year, for "January/February 2000" delivery. Basically they kept fobbing me off with either duff information, or no information at all about delivery dates, and when April arrived and the car still wasn't in the country, and they could not tell me when it would be, I cancelled my order in disgust. The only prompt thing about their service was my deposit sent back to me by return of post, when I gave them 7 days notice in writing to deliver the car in line with the contract of the original order. Goodbye to 6 months interest on £6K, several months of driving my old scoob which I sold privately ages ago, and several months wasted insurance money on the policy I had kept going in anticipation. I would advise any scooby owners considering buying a Ralliart car to be very wary of delivery dates.
Other financial committments (namely the price of a decent size house near London) mean that I may be looking for a cheaper car than the Evo in the next few months. So, my question (since I have been out of the scooby scene for a while) is what the current situation is with Euro-import scoobys right now? What sort of price are people paying, is Holland still the best place to import from or should I go for a broker (and if so, which one), and is the waiting list still the 7 months it was a year ago?
TIA for anyone who can help.

Sorry to hear about the poor service you have recieved from Ralliart !!
I am getting a Euro Import in a couple of week :-)
5 month wait and with exchange rate so high at the mo A FULL UK SPEC ( alarm, road tax, new car tax, VAT and Travel) can be yours for about £14800 spend 3-4k on it and it will be biting the ankles of the P1 and any STI for 12K less !!
only disadvantage is you only get 1 years warranty (uk)
I am using Gertjan Van Der Velde and he has been superb
Only thing is if you order now you might get the new model ?? will it be any good ??

Biting at the ankles of a P1, I think not, you'd need to spend an awful lot more than you think just to see what way the P1 had gone!!!
I know I've been out in one today and my best mate owns a modified UK car with about as much done to it as you or anyone else can get for your 3-4K.
Forget the import and just prey that somebody cancells just in time for you to own an Impreza from another stratosphere.

I know we are about to slip off topic here.
But a UK car with straight through exhaust and Possum (about £1600) can have the same BHP as the P1 and 60ft/lb of torque more than the P1s 260 - and this is based on FACT - check out Paul's dyno site.
Add Brembos and Leda - another £4k and your laughing - at the P1/STi in the rear view mirror - and I should not be biased, I have the expensive STi!
