Can anyone provide me with typical running costs for a standard UK spec turbo over a typical year? Just interested!

Assuming you mean a classic shape :

Servicing = 400 (minimum)
Tyres/Brakes/etc 500 (probably a fair amount at 10K miles a year)
Insurnace 600
Fuel (10K miles @ 360p a gallon and 22mpg) 1640
Tax 160

£3300 bargain ?

Me = 25 years old.
Car = MY99, full decat, filter suspension and one or two other bits.
Insurance = £980
Petrol = 20mpg (25mpg on motorway)
Mods = Don't ask
Tyres = £300+
Major service = £400+
Minor service = £150+

Not cheap to run, but worth it if you have the funds.

Red face

Insurance, M postcode (ie manchester) MY00 PPP with mods, 980 fully comp protected (34 yr old with 9+ years ncb).
Around 800 without the mods.
Servicing as said, around 400 per year, fuel will be around 2.5k per year typically, parts (tyres etc) around 3-400 per year.
Brakes etc..... around 300 for discs, 50 for pads.
If you have around 5k per year to spend on the car then get one, if not then dont as its ashame to see it rotting

Ok, very rough:

For me

Insurance: £1300 (26, 2 years ncb, 3 points, 1 ding)
Brake pads: £160 fitted, lasted 15k miles approx 1 year
1 - 2 services: £110 and £400 ea
Fuel: 300 miles cost £50
Tyres: If no track days, £400 a set(17s) last 20k miles?
Depreciation: ???£50-100 month maybe??
Cost of loan: Whatever

So it aint cheap!

Track days kill tyres and brakes and drink fuel

Also budget on modding money, you can guarantee if you buy a boggo car youll want at least a back box, de tango etc etc

Like I say this is rough, but pretty realistic I reckon
