Ways of Slowing Down the For Sale Forum ?
#1
Anyone else think it moves way too fast ? It seems a new post only stays on the first page for about an hour if there are no replies !
One thought, why not just e -mail the seller if you have a query about the product, and if the seller feels it is useful info they have missed they can edit their original post.
Just my 2p worth

Something I saw suggested in one of the other sections is that the For Sale forum gets split into a few sections, e.g.
Cars for sale
Wheels/tyres for sale
Non-scooby related for sale
etc...

could put more entries to a page or split the section.
The only way forward IMO is to split into subsections.
After a quick think,(what I should have done before replying)
I have checked the bugs/features room, this has been requested.
But i think there is only one programmer on the site, webby himself. So i think there will be a wait for it.
God what am i doing on the net this time of day.
bl**dy scoobynet.
Mike have you just got in from clubbing

Personally I would welcome changes to the way vehicles are advertised as I'm looking for a very special example and often end up having to spend a lot of time emailing and phoning possible sellers as they don't include all of the info I look at before making a decision to view a car.
I've written software in the passed so I know that as a basic idea an advert template should be simple in theory to set-up. I believe a simple template would solve a lot of time for buyers and also the moderators as there is a clear format for adverts.
My I suggest that a template could be created which asks for the following information :-
Model Year & Year of Registration / Letter e.g. "MY99 V" or "MY01 51"
Month first registered. *
Number of Owners. *
Date of last change of owner *
* These are shown on a V5 and should be identical on a HPI report so they will help verify authenticity, so I don't think anyone would object to posting this information.
Body style e.g. Saloon or Wagon.
Source e.g. UK, European import, Japanese import etc.
Colour.
Mileage.
Type of Service History. e.g. Full Subaru.
Security e.g. cat 1 system.
Tracker make if fitted.
Warranty remaining.
Tax remaining.
MOT remaining.
Modifications and notes.
