Buying and upgrading query
#1
I'm looking to buy my first scooby in the next couple of months and have a couple of questions I was hoping someone could help with.
I'm looking at a standard UK turbo MY99/00, and because I know very little about cars on the mechanical side, will probably buy from a dealer. I'm assuming that this will come with some kind of warranty....??
I would also like to upgrade the car to 260-280Bhp. Is Prodrive the only way to upgrade without invalidating a warranty? Also, do Prodrive still do upgrades (e.g. PPP) for classic style Imprezas? Their website only mentions the PPP for the MY03 cars. I would want Prodrive to do the work.
Who are the other best companies for upgrades? I've seen adverts for Power Engineering and the upgrade packs they offer. I'd want to spend up to £1500, but I'm concerned that using someone like this would screw up the warranty.
Any advice much appreciated.
