Do I have to get the car serviced at an authorised (read, very expensive) dealership to keep the car warranty valid ?

I heard rumours last year about this not being the case, as long as whoever was doing the servicing used Subaru quality parts.

Any ideas ?

Well I have an extended warranty and it states that you must have the car serviced by an official subaru dealer to keep the warranty intact.

I can only imagine this is the same for a standard warranty.

There's been a lot on this and also about what is legally permissable, but to be honest and to make sure you are fully covered, I'd just go to a Subaru dealer.

I'm certain that my because the dealer knew me and my car that £2500 work was carried out without question. Or to put it another way, if I'd been down A 'KwikCentre' they wouldn't have.
