After a very sucessful Knock Link group buy i've decided to help co-ordinate a Lambda Link with the same supplier.

The Lambda Link is made by the same company as the Knock Link and is a module which has several LED's, on one extreme it will indicate a rich mixture and on the other extreme it will indicate a lean mixture with several LED's in between to let you know about the mixture.

Once again, as with the Knock Link, the supplier is happy with me to co-ordinate this on the board and then arrange for people to phone in thier orders once the quota of 10 has been achieved.

From BR Developments:
LambdaLink module is connected to the same pin of the ecu which receives the signal from the main oxygen (lambda) sensor fitted to all cars with a catalytic converter or any type of eletronic fuel injection (EFI). This is a universal device and can be used on any make and model of the car, not just the Subaru Impreza (after all, they all need to have air and fuel mixed in order to have something to burn in cylinders). Although its looks may deceive those who think how simple the device may be, reality is quite different. There is a lot to be seen between the furthest red LED (very lean) and green LED (very rich) and those who will want to look carefully will very quickly get accustomed to small differences and shades of wherever their mixture may be. For example, while cruising off boost or just around "0" boost you would (ideally) like to have a relatively lean mixture for best economy. LambdaLink will make you understand within seconds why you are (un)happy with your mpg results. On the other hand, if you ran into a tank of bad fuel, LambdaLink will suddenly tend to illuminate LEDs more to the "left" of the scale and vice versa. Not to mention, that those of you who happen to have the KnockLink display will not get a complete and full picture of what and why may be happening because of the wrong or less than correct mixture. Most cars will run on so called "closed loop" when steady throttle (cruise, for example) is applied, but you will still be able to see how and when the ecu is trying to correct the air/fuel ratio. In short, while KnockLink may be there to show dangers of detonation, the very same detonation will mostly be a consequence of the incorrect air/fuel ratio (in conjunction with the timing advance and some other things, of course) and that is what LambdaLink will let you see even better and with greater dynamics of displaying the information.

One word of warning, however - keep your eyes on the road and NOT on the displays. Still the safest way to get from A to B!!

The Lambda Link Module will be sold in this group buy at £77 including VAT and postage (the original price of this part would be £88 delivered)

@Martin850, yes it will fit, BR Developments will supply wiring instructions for a number of cars further down the line, but they cannot supply any instructions for cars other than imprezas

UHF

I'm interested but I have a query.

It's a Lambda Link so will need a Lambda sensor to get information from. The Lambda sensor is located in the downpipe (I think, please correct me if I'm wrong) but if you've got an after market exhaust, some don't have the hole for the sensor to go into. Am I correct in saying this or am I just an "eejit".

Please help............But please refrain from flaming me

gordonshek? depends on what year on the classic the sensor in the downpipe was a egt sensor on early cars, later cars had the lamba prob in the top of the dp but if im right had the provisions for it in the replacement decat pipe,im told it will be ok as it runs from the ecu signal.
