Question

Hi All,

First off, excuse me if I'm missing something obvious here!

We've all heard(or even experienced)the STi/UK fuel/engine melt horror stories. My question is - what are Prodrive doing to the P1(Sti!)to make it run ok on UK fuel and still produce 280BHP?

Cheers

Justin.

INHO it could be loads of things, including

Broquet
RE-Map ECU

Who knows?

What grade fuel will be recommended?

There are lots of threads on here regarding this.
The obvious change is the reported extensive work done by STi in Japan (not Prodrive as is widely believed) on the ECU. The re-map supposedly prevents detonation, maintains BHP and fuel economy.
Personally I think it would take the combined efforts of Uri Gellar and Paul Daniels to achieve that but it's the claim.
You may also like to do a search on the Broquet fuel catalyst as there are some interesting thoughts and speculations on that subject also.

This may go down as most stupid question ever but would it be possible to then put this ECU into an STI to get similar results? Assuming that you coulds get hold of one...

Apparently the ECU mods are in conjunction with Prodrive AND STi. STi make the ECU, and always have done.

There will always be controversy over this, some people say nothing has changed, until we see one, nobody will know for certain.

They are out there. Inverness has some according to Sales at IM. Lancasters has some as well.

But not Dear Leap yet as I'd have mine

Ooh can't say, but I live south of Reading and don't go to Reading for servicing, that should be enough.
I know they read this as well

I ORDERED MY CAR AT THE END OF OCTOBER AND MY DEALER TOLD ME TODAY THAT NO CARS WERE DUE UNTIL APRIL!

The end of April is the part line. IM said that by the end of April each dealer should have at least two. They have had a problem with spoilers as well the lady said.

Others have said that cars will appear in the next few weeks. The cars are being transported on their own covered transporter. They lost a few RB5's apparently. Therefore dont expect your dealer just to get one at a time, but in batches of 2 or 3.

They are shipping, but big dealers like Lancaster, Listers etc will I have no doubt be served with their 2 or 3 first. Just hope your at the top of the list and with a big dealer I guess.

This BBS usually has better info than the average dealer.

Cars start going to the dealers next week.

Prodrive WR Sport parts for the P1 within the next month.
