squealin central locking - extended warranty ?
#1
anyone had an intermittent squealin central lockin motor replaced under extended warranty ?
extended warranty is up in july and car is in for its last service before it runs out this week. does a component have to fail before it becomes a warranty issue ? does a noise count as a manufacturing defect, even if its still working ?
already gonna sting 'em for scratched windows (my99) so not sure whether to push my luck.
cheers.

I was told that is quite a common feature with power steered cars. I take it it only happens i.e. when you just start the car and do a manoeuvre. This is due to dry bearings. Normally happens when it's hot. Might just need some grease. I could be completely wrong, but I've had this happen to me on several cars and they were intermittent too. Never failed though!
