Hi all,

My car is trying to kill me. Every time - EVERY TIME - I get out, I get fried, regardless of what I'm wearing, the weather or who's watching. If I hold the door when I get out - ZAP! If the little black window guide thingy get a sniff of my Tricep - ZAP! If I put my foot down the sills ZAPs my calf, I've even be Zapped through the steering wheel (so we're talking a pretty hefty charge). The few time I have managed to get out unscathed the bar-steward back door gets me when I put the key in it!

The car has leather, but so did my last car and I never got one belt! It's got to be an electrical fault, any ideas or similar tails with solutions?

When you take the key from the ignition, hold the metal of the key quite tight, now as you get out touch the key on a bare screw or the door slam. The charge will pass through you and out through the key. It won't stop you getting charged up but you won't feel the zap of the spark as you discharge.

This seems to be coming up on all the different car forums at the moment.

The only thing that concerns me about it is what happens if it sparks when you have a fuel filler in your hand !!

I got them om me old classic, And now getting them from me new 03 wrx, IT pis**s me off.
Somtimes i can get a real belt off it, Its got be so wound up i make sure i get a shock before pumping in the gas, Just incase i wipe out the garage (LOL)
