No-one does a workshop manuals for the cars, apart from Subaru. You can buy one from a dealer, but it will cost a few hundred pounds.

You only really need them for comples jobs like stripping the gearbox, engine, diffs etc. and reassembling. Most other tasks are very intuitive, and can be tackled by most comptent/confident people with decent tools.

I've heard rumours that there are copies of the Subaru workshop manuals available to download off the Internet somewhere though...

I found a site yesterday that lets you 'download' all the service manuals for all Subaru's, and loads of other brochures, documents etc, you just punch in the make, model & year

BUT the big downside to this is that you have to pay for each section of the service manual, and some sections arent cheap

This is (AFAIK) an official Subaru site, in America

Cool

I was stuck in the same situation a few week's back so I recently bought a CD set off Yahoo.com an extensive Subaru CD Manual Set basically it's what it say's it is & for 10 dollars & $8 postage then I couldn't lose.

Choose your make/model/symptom then it gives you the problems and causes.

Has wiring diagram's and location of component's but no photo's.

I think it's some kind of dealer diagnostic set that someone's got a hold of , It's a pretty decent solution but with a good knowledge base on scoobynet and some of the user's personal sites then all the knowledge your after is probably found on the web or via people's profile's.

i done the plugs on my 96 RA a while back, its not as bad as it first looks. If youve got an older one like mine they use what they call direct ignition, each plug has its own seperate coil bolted to the cam covers on top of the plug, theres one 6mil bolt on each coil, remove the nolt and the coil pops off out the way, you can leave the small low tension wire attached. If you have a newer scoob, not sure when they started using the conventional method of H.T leads but the approach will be abit diferant, take out the washer bottle from n.s for abit more room, you will need a decent long reach plug socket and its not the usual size its smaller!
