Just a quicky as i note the width of scooby is given as 5'7" which is 1675mm by my reckoning, ah actually just noticed it's described as 5'7" on parkers as per the 1675 theory, but 1690mm on SIDC faq. Anyway back on track is this measurement taken from the wingmirrors or the widest part of the bodywork?
Reason 4 da question is i'm trying 2 calculate how much wider a car i kud fit in current garage as it's a bit tight for da scooby so trying 2 use logic init as many cars have bodywork that is as wide low down as the mirrors r high up, whereas the scoob has mirrors that stick out a few "s further i guess so a car with wider stats may still fit if it's measured from bodywork over mirror type width So any1 no the answer [gob shyte mode off]

I know what you mean.
Example...
The Focus is wider than the Mondeo in most magazines as the Focus has straight sides with sticky out mirrors. The Mondeo on the other hand has curved sides with small mirrors.
If you folded the mirrors in the Mondeo is wider.
Not sure about the latest scoob measurements though.

so is the 1690mm, or wotever, from the mirrors or the bodywork. I wood suspect it's bodywork as mirrors can fold in, at least a bit if not totally on me UK car Discuss...........

How about getting a straight edge, lining it up with the widest part of the car, and the outside edge of the mirror on each side of the car and marking the points on the ground, then backing the car out and measuring between the marks? That should tell you if the measurement includes the mirrors or not.
