Sorry if this has been done before...

I'm buying a new 03 WRX, and have been offered a 3 year "service package" on it. This covers all servicing (parts and labour) wear and tear, and breakdown cover.

It even includes tyres and brakepads, but apparently only "to the manufacturers schedule", which they reckon is 15,000 miles for the tyres. They freely admitted that I was unlikely to get that out of a scooby if driven as you'd expect.

If I do less than 10,000 miles a year, it's just over a grand for the whole three years with dealership servicing, or 616 quid for "approved network garage" servicing (+50% for up to 18,000 miles).

Seems like quite a good deal, if only for the peace of mind.
On the other hand, maybe with 10,000 mile services, three services and a few consumables aren't going to come anywhere near a grand.

Any thoughts?

sounds OK, you'll never get 15k out of the tyres though! Makesure you can choose which tyres they put on aswell!

1000 sounds like a bargain to me.

A dealer 10K service each year is going to cost you £200-300 ish
If you do a set of tyres every year thats £350-400
Brake pads another 100+fitting

I would go for it.

So three service at say 250 each (thats really cheap as well BTW) = 750

two sets of tyres = 700

two sets of pads = 200

= 1650
