Roughly how heavy 1 standard alloy and tyre weighs as I have 4 which I need to ship to New York and I need to get a quote for shipping.

4no.M/Y 01 215x45x17 O/E wheels and tyres= 72kg.
Get some electronic bathroom scales. Argos= £30ish.
Last shipment to US cost me £223 but N.Y.is cheaper.
Deflate tyres before shipping.

Thats a gas.
Some companies such as Amtrak insist they are deflated before shipping and I presume this is because they are sent in an unpressurised loading bay.

Sorry, that was meant as a joke. I know it's a gas, it would just make the wheels + tyres a tiny bit lighter - in theory anyway.

How light is Helium? I think you want to use hydrogen... just don't smoke when inflating your tyres...
