Please mods can you leave this here for 24 hours or at least until I have an answer - thanks.

Can anyone help:

I had to leave my car garaged for 7 weeks (due to foreign registration etc). I started every week as advised and no problems. I then left it for three weeks (holiday) and have returned to find the battery totally flat - again no problem. I jump started it and took it for a 30 minute run. All was fine but the revs kept dropping all the way to 200 and then stall. I returned from the run and slowly lifted off the gas and again the revs dropped to 200 but then slowly made their way up to 800. Revs then started to fluctuate to 600 then to 800 etc etc. The car was running perfectly otherwise.

The car has never had this problem before: it is a MY99 with no mods. What do you think it could be? sensors? fuel? or simply needs a good few runs after the long time in the garage?

WOuld appreciate some help as 7 weeks without my car has been a pain in the @rse and want to get it back to normal.

I did think this may be the answer but I remember reading somewhere on this forum, that it takes longer than this to go off...I hope it is just this. May stick some V-power (Italian for optimax) in it tonight.

Doesn't the electronic control module have to "re-learn" all the correct settings after the system has been dead? It might need nothing more than more driving.

No idea and never heard of this but certainly sounds feasible. Not sure what the local Italian garage would make of that!!!

Check to see if you have any fault codes logged in the ECU using the diagnostic connectors under the dash.

Could be a faulty sensor (perhaps MAF?) if the revs are uneven.

How do I go about doing that? Garage job?
