Ok, this is probably gonna be a really stupid question?, according to what i know all ready there are several different types of service:

7.5k 6 month
15k 12 month
30k 24 month
45k 36 month any more???

So when you have had the 45k is the next one 7.5k ? and so on

can any1 put a rough price on these aswell?

Classic Scoobs are serviced every 6 months or 7.5k miles, whichever comes sooner.

So far i've had the
30k = £450
37.5k = £160
45k = £413.

The 45k is a cambelt service, this service meets with the 30k equally expensive service at 90k. £600+ should be expected.

90k service last month cost £3,567.85

..... but did include new discs/pads and erm... a new engine

But up to this point of owning it liek 18 months i have just had 3 services of around the hundred quid mark depending on whether i brought my own oil (which i always do now rather than any1 else poop ) oh & it did get a bit more expensive when stood round talkint 2/distracting the mechanic doh dont delay ppl when yer paying em 40 odd quid an hour

If you are even the slightest worried about servicing costs, don't buy a scoob!

Get a Skoda! Servicing is nice and cheap. I've done 80k in mine and the largest bill to date was the cambelt service at 60k - £248 all in

looks like a civic type r, cant really leave myself open to that, im guessing in summary that its gonna be minor:£180 major:£400+ every 7.5k miles alternating double

Allow £6-700 a year for main dealer servicing and then tyres etc. If you ask about running costs don't buy one.

indeed even with that big un i got coming up they (service costs) still seem like small fry compared with all other cost Have u got an insurance quote yet................ now that is scary & the MOD bill now we're talkin scary money

Brun's numbers match up pretty closely to what i've paid up until now. Its been £100-£120 each for 7.5k services (22.5k overall and 37.5k overall) and £410 for the big one at 30k. SIDC member discount of 10% really helped and more than paid for itself over the year.

Mine is due for the three year old service but has only done 11k miles. Even more gutted handing over the cash for the belt,etc but then what? Go by mileage or every six months? Yes they are expensive. People used to say if you asked about servicing costs on a Porsche it meant you couldn't afford to own one. Didn't realise it applied to Subaru too.

My X reg is also v'low mileage (10600 ish), I'm getting taylored services in line with Subaru's recomendations, expecting to pay £200 for the 30month and another £200 for the 36month, so a bit cheaper. This is with a main dealer who is not just in the market to fleece customers, but actually talk sense !.

Nearly put me off then .......phewww....... look at this way .. doesnt sound tooo bad.

Every 6 months ... a £120 - 130 .. broken down .. its £20 per month or so ... put some money in a jar ... after that .. the £450-500 service ... so ... about £75 or so per month in the jar ... thats not bad at all...

thats why we have credit cards too ... i might have to get rid of the missus though ... she is on the recieving end of about 99.99% of my money ..

it's not that bad only £500 un every 3 years, give or take, if yer not doing silly milage. & BTW it's milage or age which ever comes first so MUST be serviced every 6 months at worst! woodnt touch a scooby that hadnt been treated as the good lord Fuji wanted lol

so if im looking at buying a car with 16k on clock coming up, just been serviced at 15k and its 2 months off being 36 months old, which service is next? am i over complicating this? fookin doing my tree in, soory to boreu all

Forget mileage is goes on time if you dont do the mileage.

36 Months old is a 45K service.

Right here goes on a classic impreza here are all the services stamps that 36 month old 16K car should have to date in the service book.

1) New its PDI (pre delivery inspection)
2) 1000 mile service, check up and oil change
3) 7,500 miles service OR 6 months after registration
4) 15,000 miles service OR 12 months after registration
5) 22,500 miles service OR 18 months after registration
6) 30,000 miles service OR 24 months after registration
7) 37,500 miles service OR 30 months after registration
8) 45,000 miles service OR 36 months after registration

So if its a FSSH it should have a PDI stamp and 6 or 7 service stamps depending on whether the 45K has just be done or is due.

with that milage it is age that is important & thus shud of had (or b approaching) 3 years of services which when 7500 service every 6 months means it will be the 45k service kuming up ie pretty big Easy u c lol

but essential u check it has been serviced every 6 months with that kind of milage as if sum joker hasnt bothered kuz he aint been doing miles (which as mentioned is WRONG!) then it's a negotiating point i suppose as u NEED 2 make up 4 this if for eg it hadnt had 30k spark plug etc service dun if u no wot i mean

& look at it this way wood u rather not do timing belt but toally kill the engine if cambelt flew off/feked it i fink not, hard 2 accept expense i no but essential if u want 2 keep the scoob reliable

I have just had 30K service on mine and the car has done a genuine 8K miles, I know cuse it had 10 miles on it when I got it .

Unbelievabel the amoutn of oil its had LOL :

Running in Oil
1000 mile oil change
7,500 oil
15,000 oil
22,500 oil
30,000 oil

So its averaging 1300 miles between fully synthetic oil changes .

Anyone, wanna buy a well maintained RA .

Okay here goes, dont forget these were done by impreza specialists not Subaru dealers .

1000 service £100
7,500 service £105
15,000 service £150
22,500 service £110
30,000 serice £515 (including an ITG filter)

Thats just the basic servicing though. I also have loads of bills for lights, brakes pads, wheels, exhaust bits etc etc. Quite scarey really .
