My turbo is a MY94 and has a dateless reg (3 no's & 3 letters), it is not easy to date apart from it being clearly pre 96 (to those sad gits in the know !)
If I told the MOT dude that it was a 92/93 & therefore pre cats, he surely couldn't fail it based on being decatted because it would never have originally had them !
The only grief I can see is if it came to selling it & it didn't marry with the log book, but it's hardly a cut & shut isn't it !
What do you reckon, is it plausible ?

Take it to a catless friendly garage I have one near me. They check the rest of the car properly
