Question

Was at the Extreme Machines 0-60 contest on Saturday and was wondering if the scooby with the huge TSL graphics on it was there own car?

Think it's best time was 4.4secs??? Sounded wicked too.

Talking

that was me!!!

my car is covered in TSL stickers for a bit of publicity for them and we also have a deal in place

got a 4.5sec 0-60, hoping for less but i got the gear changes wrong - when my speedo read 60+ i changed to 3rd cos didnt want to hit the limiter, but after my last run the timing guys told me i wasnt actually reaching 60 in 2nd! so i should have took it to the limiter and saved time on not having to change to 3rd

the winner was a group B Audi Quatro with 3.07!

i matched him upto 30mph and also pulled as many G's (0.95) the highest on the day

the event is going to be shown on Men & Motors sometime in the summer.

Peccy, I thought you said you had the same mods as me?

How come you're managing such low 0-60 times?

See, I knew it was you You never went to Santa Pod then!

UHF,

ive got an extra mod i forgot to mention - an EXEDY racing clutch, which helps quite a bit although didnt have that the last time i was at pod running in the 13's

decided to give pod a miss, think my scooby got enough abuse on the saturday!

Impressive, I havent rolling roaded or 1/4 miled my car since getting the tek2 and decat, what sort of power are you running with those mods?

BTW how much was that clutch? Does the car wheel spin? I found that trying to get a good start with the standard clutch pretty much impossible, it just smells!

im running 284bhp / 272 torque with TEK2 / decat / induction kit

the exedy racing clutch costs £1200 plus fitting and comes with its own lightened flywheel, made a hude different in accelaration, the revs spin up much faster now

i can launch it all day long with no smell or slippage

blimey, at that cost i'd want it to do it all for me, kinda a launch control button! What was you getting before you put it on.

BTW what kind of induction kit you got, i've just got a panel ITG filter, was a bit wary of the induction kits because of heat and MAF

So you've just got a K&N cone filter? how do you route cold air to it? I'm surprised at the power you have, i look forward to the April 12 PE rolling road day to see what my car comes out like

UHF, yep, its right next to the cold air intake pipe in the wing, could be better though, like the APS one that is situated in the wing itself.

if you dont make 280ish, mention my 284 and demand it!

I was hoping to get above 260, had no idea a tek2 and decat could get 280+ tho! Might look at a good induction kit next!

While we're are on the subject of TSL, where is that 22B? I've lost count of the months that have gone by since it appeared.

Cheers peccy

I did notice the lack of wheels spin when you were starting off!

I was the one stood next to you (I think) when you had finished your runs (in red ferrari coat), I got all your runs on video but none of my car (the mini with R1 engines)

Run 1- 3.25
Run 2- 3.95
Run 3- 3.60

It was the first time ever that the car has done 0-60 as it is not even finished yet

Were expecting it to do under 3secs when its done, it was taking 1 second to get from 50 to 60 mph because of gear change, we weren't taking it to the limiter (geared for 60 in 1st) so did 0-50mph in 2.2secs
