First off, greetings and salutations to all.

I currently own an '01 2.5RS and an '02 WRX (both USDM-spec) here in the States. My company is looking at transferring me to Paris, France in the next few months, so I will be forced to divest my beloved Scoobies if this occurs.

Disclaimer: Now I know I would probably be better off asking on a French Subaru BBS, but I do not speak/read a word of French, so I have had much difficulty getting a coherent answer.

That being said, if you might be knowledgeable about Subarus in France, what can I expect if I try to replace my Scooby in France, in terms of price/hidden costs like tax and insurance/service/etc.?

Also, I am an avid autocrosser (SCCA Solo II) here. Are there any easily accessible, cheap, amateur, track events where I might "exercise" my car a bit?

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Hopefully STI FRENCHIE will be able to help you as he is resident in France.....

You could try looking at his thread, to get his e-mail address.. suggested thread to gain this:

Greetings.

I dont want to rain on your parade but I'm not sure you'll have much luck with Scoobies in France as we took the P1 over to France for a driving holiday last year, pretty much covered the whole country from A roads to Z roads, and during our travels the number of other Scoobies we spotted amounted to ... ZERO!!

They do seem to love their Pugs, Citreons and Renaults though...

There's also a guy called Claudius who posts frequently on SN who, I think, lives in France. He's a man of very firm opinions, however........

Hello

Try starting another thread with a different title that clearly states you need advice re. France

May get more relevant people reading.
