Finally got my STI 8 (see earlier sob story from saturday - i mile and back to dealers)

It's veeerrry nice.

One thing I noticed however was the brake pads.

The pads, although not worn, and discs still as new with the machining marks still on them, look about 1/2 worn.

I realise that there is a chamfered edge on them, but the pistons in the caliper are already proud of the caliper.

Whats going on?

Fit skinny pads so they wear out faster.

Funny you should say that...

But just go to your local Off Licence and give them a £50 note and see the assistant check it out.

I gave the Subaru dealer 500 x £50 notes. Check the goods? Damn right.

Andy it wont be the off licence with £50 notes anymore it will be the petrol station

could it be lower life, softer pads to help brake disk bed in maybe?
