Question

As i bought my my97 with ppp fitted i didn't get the old bits?

so:

2 questions:

1. If i order the ppp with my new sti8 will they take the old bits and reduce the price as they are brand new?

2. If not and i do the upgrade do i get the old ecu / rear silencer / fuel pump etc to sell separately

I don't think you'd fancy fitting it yourself - then you'd not have a warranty You should get everything back, yes.

You should be offered the old bits, although I'm not sure about the fuel pump, but it's up to you. I chose to let Prodrive bin my downpipe and centre.

Since the parts I had binned are worth little or nothing, there's no reason for the dealer to give you a discount for keeping them. Negotiating a discount on the PPP is another thing entirely.

Folks,

My understanding is that the ECU is remapped, so you don't get the old one.

And even if you get the daughterboard approach, the old ECU is recycled back into the system so you don't get it back either.

I think you used to be able to get an ECU back if you asked, but I don't think anyone has got one back for a while.

My dealer put my old downpipe and tailpipe in the boot of my UK300 - but he didn't tell me. Thought I had a mechanic in the back when I hit the first corner of the South deeside road .

Was alway going to ask for the ECU but decided I was on a hiding to nothing !
