I noticed the other week that when i pulled away from a set of traffic lights i dropped the clutch about 4,000 revs racing this other car and noticed a clutch burning smell.I dont do this often but after this the car was fine, until i pulled away up a hill about 3,000 revs and noticed the same smell.Under full throttle the clutch is not slipping.Any body else noticed this, also i have done 19,000 miles in the car ,how long is the clutch suppose to last?

I'm no expert but clutches should last around 70000 miles? Anyone got a proper figure?

It all comes down to how the car was driven from new though
