Question

I need a new drivers side door lock (barrel) for my Scoob, anyone know approx price, and can I get it matched to my current key or will I need to get a full set.

For those wondering, heres what happened. :- Someone who works in my building gave his keys to a muppet colleague to get something out his car, he tells colleague its the red audi in the car park (quite old one), she then confuses his red audi (how i have no idea ?!?!?!), with my MY98 scooby and snaps the key in the door lock, the barrel of the lock is rotated 1/4 and theres nothing left of the key to grab hold of..

Any ideas ??
Thanks

Do you know any locksmiths? They will probably have a special tool for removing broken keys. They are usually part of their lock picking sets. Have had one recovered years ago on my astra. Cost me a few beer tokens

Cheers,

I got the RAC to remove the key for me today but the barrel is bug'ered, she must have used some proper force (unbeleivable) cause its bent. So I'm deffo looking at a new lock(s)

Ah! That would make things more interesting Don't actually think I've used my door locks for 2 years though! Don't you have remote central locking

Nah Iv'e never used the lock either apart from the odd time Iv'e left the car running on the drive to warm up on a winter morning always use the remote central locking. Had I not been told I probably wouldn't of noticed till my next polishing session

I was more thinking about when I come to sell it, and it looks like theres been an attempt at trying to get in. Plus if I get it sorted now, maybe I can serve her with the bill.... but thats another question altogether.. were do I stand there.
