Just curious to find out who is chuffed to bits with there new pribe and joy, let it be a WRX or STI (daft question I know).
I'm afraid I'll have to wait till next year cos my new pribe and joy arrived on the 23rd January weighting 6lb 10oz - love him to bits.

Yes have had a great weekend picked up my wrx with ppp on saturday morning and have been smiling ever since. The only problem is that it all starts getting interesting at 3000 revs but you have to back out of the throttle at 4000 revs as i am sticking to the running in procedure for the first 1000 miles. With the ppp kit i have noticed that you also get a very nice prodrive intercooler pipe in blue which matches the colour of the car roll on first service!

Got my first Scooby (Black WRX) from Quenby's Saturday.
First impressions (previous car, MR2):
1) WOW, this is going to be a smiles machine!
2) Great Power from 2,750 (or thereabouts) up to running in period 4,000 limit
3) Quieter than imagined would be (guess it gets louder as the revs get piled on)
4) Seem to have a bit of bonnet 'wobble' from 60mph+ into head wind (is this normal?)
5) Interior much better then I remembered from NEC show
6) Stereo/speakers sound better than I was worried about (from all the ICE posts saying how crap standard kit is)
7) Small stone chip on the bonnet already (only 40 miles covered) :-(
8) More 'refined' than I expected
9) Great feeling of road prescence/bulk/grip
10) Black really is a tough colour to keep clean
Can't wait to get the running in period out of the way and get a chance to really drive it.
BTW, anyone know if the standard MY03 headunit supports muting/audio through speakers using a hands free mobile phone kit?

Got my MY03 scoob on saturday (WRX) and been out in it most of the weekend. Its my first "proper" car having owned a number of hot hatches and Im well chuffed with it. The first 1000 miles is a bit frustrating (700 more to go :P) but it hints at whats to come and that feels like its gonna be alot of fun

Got my STi8 on Saturday and it is great. Trouble is still have 750 miles to go till I can drive it properly, oh and get the PPP fitted.
Josh, did you have your PPP fitted from new? If not what differences have you noticed from before to after?

Got my STI on sat, and have covered 220 miles. Just been out to pile on a few more miles, things get exciting at 3000rpm mark and before you know it peep peep peep, and I`m changing gears.
Looking good for the future though me thinks.

My bonnet wobbles slightly too, the scoop even more so. If that's the worst thing that happens I'll be happy though.
I only have the AUTO switch (ie driver's window) illuminated on my driver's door console, all of the others are dark. I take it this is normal ???

Another happy MY03 owner here. Still grinning like I'm insane.
I've yet to get to grips with the alarm system (should read the manual really), as I've already managed to wake up the neighbours.
Fancied a cup of coffee at the weekend, and instead of walking to the kitchen, drove 20 miles to a coffee shop. Does this ever wear off?

Steve H,
I had the PPP fitted close to the first service, so I drove the car for about 10 days or more as 'standard'.
Although I was already impressed with the car (already had a'98 and a P1), the PPP transforms it into something completely different.
There's a noticable difference in power and torque, which in turn makes it a slightly different car to drive. I heard rumours that Prodrive were recommending PPP'd STis should run on 18s, and having run the PPPd car for a week or so before putting on the 18s I have to say that 18s make the handling more 'predictable' and strangely seems to smoothen the ride, taking away some of the bouncy feeling from the suspension.
In short, big difference, bigger smiles

Thanks for the info, I will keep that in mind when I have the PPP fitted.
Won't tell the wife till after the PPP is fitted then maybe she will be convinced over the 18" wheels.
Thanks again

John, how many revs do you have on when you try and pull off? When running in and shifting from 4th to 5th at 4k revs I often felt I should just get out and walk, took an age to pick up. Could just be due to our other car being a torque-monster
Now I've had first service and I'm using 5k revs and it's a little livlier..still 5th and 6th feel like overdrive. Where's my PPP?
