I am 22, 23 in May, and i want a Scooby for my next car( i currently have a modded Escort GTi) I have had a quote of £1000 fully comp on a UK turbo off Direct Line for when i am 23, although i need to fit a tracker.
Should i stick with the UK scooby turbo, or pay more for an imported WRX?
What is the real difference between them?
Are they trustworthy? ( just i keep thinking, if its a good one, why is it not still in Japan?!?!)
Are the " Full service histories" genuine?
Is the mileage genuine?
Just I feel that a lot of the WRX imports round where i live seem to good to be true, I saw a 98 R plate in black, 28000 miles, 17's for £5500 last week, and i walked away becuse it was smoking.

I have a Jap sti, and i feel as long as you buy from a garage and get as much history as possible you are safe. Just be careful and ask as many questions as you can about the cars history.
Good luck.
Good luck.

I had no service history with my impoort then agian it had 10 miles on the clock and no it hadnt been clocked unless all the parts had been replaced .
I now have a full service history (1K, 7.5K, 15K, 22.5K, 30K) the same as UK car except mine was done with a specialist. There are imports out there with UK service histories. Take you time but to be honest you will probably looking at an older WRX so may be worth going for the UK. the older the cars teh closer they are ecept the WRX will always be of higher spec than the same model year UK equivalent.
The reason they are over here is that Japan has a very expensive MOT type test, so much so new cars are cheap and there are very few old cars on the road and virtually no second market in Japan.
Which means perfectly good second hand cars are real cheap and are exported to the rest of the world.
Apart from insurance which is about 30% more for me on a modded WRX the running costs are the same. I run my UK on optimax I run my RA on optimax and octane booster about £3 extra a fill up and thats about it.
I am glad I had a UK then an import as it allowed me to getting into impreza and work out whats what and whos who and dos and donts.
