New Forester XT at the Chicago Auto Show...

Looks great. 2.5-liter motor, detuned version of the STi powerplant, complete with all the same fancy internal bits. 210hp/235 lb-ft of torque. Subaru Canada officially sez 6.1 seconds 0-60, which iddn't bad at all.
I rather imagine that this car is in your future, at some point, as is the STi Forester.

The STi Forester is the one that I'm waiting for. The Forester XT already gets the same motor as the STi (2.5l-t), just in a very different state of tune. The STi Forester will get the very same motor as the STi, with all of its 300 hp, etc. It's also going to be on the STi suspension kit (lower ride height) and road wheels/tires. There were pics posted of the STi Forester from the Japan Auto Show...that car was unreal, and immediately the best looking Subaru available.
There is still a persistent rumor of a turbo H6 powering the STi versions of the Legacy and Forester, but that rumor is proving to be unfounded.
You can also figure that, given the weight of the Forester, it should be very close to the Subaru-stated acceleration numbers of the STi sedan that we're getting, 4.8 secs 0-60. That would mean that your Forester is faster than a Cayenne Turbo.
Not that the Porsche guy would care.

there is much talk of development of the H6 to include turbo, in fact european release may well be 2005. A twin turbo unit for legacy is also back online and due for release,so more power soon online.
