Can anyone inform me as to what these are required for?

I havent got a clue about this sort of stuff and i think i need to learn.

kncocklink is a display that shows noise in the engine, highly recommended monitoring tool for looking for detonation which will reduce the life of your engine (and other nasty noises).

lambdalink shows the air / fuel ratio so you can see what the mixture is at a given time to ensure you are not running to rich or to lean.
