Well, my STi 8 is now 8 days and 730KM old and so far, every time I've driven it has either been in or on snow!!!

Tonight, the inevitable happened...

...they say most accidents happen within 5 miles from home...

...will mine happened within 5 meters!!!

After causing huge traffic jams driving as slowly as I could without stalling I finally made it home in one peice! The only thing left to do was get the beast down the snow covered ramp to the underground garage...

...all was going so well, but the garage door wasn't opening despite my best efforts to press the button... Can't say how fast I was going 'cos the needle wasn't moving off the stop ...finally the garage door starts to open, but I'm too close, so I have to do want I was desparately trying to avoid... use the brakes!

The moment I touched the brake peddles... no ABS - far too slow for that ...the wheels just locked and I started to slide (5m to go!)

OK, Handbrake.... NO

Release brakes & re-apply.... NO

Stick it in reverse.... TOO LATE.... BANG

Fortunately the garage door had only made it up to the number plate by this time (Opening outwards!) and 1) number plates bend and 2) so do garage doors!

Got out to check the damage... just a bent number plate and no other marks - well none that can be seen under the garage lights :|

Garage door still works too

Fortunately I don't have to use the car for the next 4 days, so it keeping well away from that nasty white stuff!

Maybe next week I'll get to drive it on clear dry tarmac!?!

Your only problem now will be how to clean the seats and get the smell out of the car
