i've had my scoob now for three months and to my suprise i've not had any "faster" cars trying to race me. all i've had are people in sh*t boxes driving about a foot behind my bumper trying to tempt me to race them. the other night i had a guy in an old shape rover 214 ( the boxy style one ) driving right up my **** and putting his full beam on for a few seconds at a time!! i let him pass and he goes screaming through ( engine nearly blowing up ) with his m8 giving me the w*nker sign!! why do they even bother, they "think" their car's fast but the scoob is in a completly different division. i could p*ss on all of them that try but whats the point?? it seems that lads in xr2's, clio 16v etc don't bother because they respect scoobies and know we can make fools of them all. anyone else get this?

If they are driving right up your bumper what you need is a flame kit.

You have answered your own questions mate! You don't play with the Nova's, Saxo's, etc because you think...'****box behind that won't keep up'. The RS4's, Ferraris, 911's, etc all think the same of you and therefore don't play!

I'll happily (insert usual saxo boy disclaimers) play with slower cars from time to time. Not so that I can 'spank' them or 'race' them but so that we can see the difference (or lack of) between the cars. I want to know how close my car is to a 911 and hope that under the correct conditions a 911 driver will show me

I must admit I haven't really had any of this (yet)...but then I've only had the car 7 weeks!?!

So far I've only had long stairs from people with inane grins on their faces?!

....Till the first encounter!

A slightly modded uk car would be a match for a 911 (i know ive played with one ) but standard would be out of its depth....

I had a little play with a Porka Carrera on the M40 towards B'ham a few months ago. By the looks of it he thought he P1ss all over me but the P1 did keep up with him suprisingly. Wont mentioned the speed we were doing cos I'd only get slated.

I had a play with a Boxster S on the M25 and M40 on weds night coming back from West Ham and was suprised at how quick they are at high speed*

* I do not condone street racing blah blah blah

Me too but we probably are dreaming My 0-100 has to be about the same as an out the box 911 but I still suspect the porka would ease away! It would be fun though

I want to be spanked by something truely fast, a 911 turbo, cerbera 4.5 or 360 Modena. It would be nice to see how close I could/couldn't stay to them! Don't see many around though

I know the feeling.

The fast cars, big BMW's, porsches, big Audi's etc etc don't bother you.

Its all the arseholes racers in there rusty old Astra GTE with multi couloured panels, wango fandango tyres and drain pipes sticking out the back that make them sound like a wet fart.

The other situation is wanabe fast car drivers, in their Golf V5, or Honda Civic, drivers who think they drive performance cars giving you a go.

The other day I came up against a Golf V5, I was following him for a while and he was being a complete *******, when I tried to over take him (clear, long straight sections, single carrageway) he kept blocking me. I hadn't done anything wrong upto until this point.

But I just lost my rag in the end and as we entered the dual carageway, he booted it, I booted it and went around him which really fecked him off cos after reaching a ton or so I slowed down like a sensible driver and he came up behind me weaving, fingers the lot - tw@t.

Similar situation happened with an Astra GTE and he must have been screwing the b@llox of his car, cos he pulled over in the end with smoke pouring out of his exhaust - laughed I nearly shat.

I can't be arsed most of the time, its a waste of fuel!!!

trust me saxoboy, a 911 turbo ( new shape ) would eat anything on the road. i went in me m8's and when he floored it in second it was a struggle to lift my head off the seat!! insanely fast. but like you say i would still love to have a race with him just to compare. think i'll ask him....

I've got a m8 with a MY98 911 Turbo 4, who came up against an STI7 towards the end of last year on the A1.

He suspected that it might have had PPP fitted, cos he said he was having to large it through roundabouts etc to keep up with the scoob.

But even so, after having a play for a bit (due respect being given by both drivers), after both cars went through a roundabout on the door handles he said he dropped a cog, floored it and squirted passed him.

Which just goes to show!!!

Nevertheless, plenty of respect given by my m8.

Porsche, Ferrari's etc...

Put it in to perspective, how much do they pay for their cars in order to match or even beat us.
