Question

Does anybody know for sure wether or not Subaru use galvanised steel to build the Impreza??

Due to flaky underseal on my '99MY, I'd feel better about the salt / rust issue.

Cheers guys

Gina G,

The body panels are not galvanised(paint dont like it) but are plated with a zinc based metal, so corrosion should not be a problem unless the plating is breached by way of sratch damage or constant stone chipping.

With regards to your other posting about underseal, most underseals semi-set, and you can in fact apply more than one coat, you just have to wait a while for the first coat to cure, as you would in between paint coats.

Hope this helps

Is this the same for Jap imports? (would think so because there built in the same place by the same robots?)
