Cool

Hi All,

We (UK GT4 Owners) have today had our semi-annual rolling road meet at Powerstation.

One of the owners is currently having his car rebuilt (for big power) and hence couldn't get to the meet. So his next door neighbour agreed to drive him up from Essex to Cheltenham in his new (V reg) UK spec Scooby. This car had its 1000 mile service yesterday so is quite new :-)

After running all the GT4s he agreed to run his on the rollers (so we could hurl rocks at it :-))))

The figures:

Normalised Engine output to DIN 70020 = 214.0bhp
Engine output = 218.0bhp at 6310 rpm
Torque = 206 lb-ft at 3740 rpm

Looks quite good for a car that probably hasn't loosened up much. I can scan and post the graph if anybody is really interested ?

Thought you new car owners might be interested in this.

Cheers

Forgive my ignorance, but what does:-

'Normalised Engine output to DIN 70020 = 214.0bhp'

mean?

Figures are interesting though, almost bang on the spec printed by Subaru for a UK model Turbo...

Thumbs down

I wouldn't let some plonker with a rolling road rev the gonads off my scoob at 1000 miles.

Tim W.

Normalised to DIN70020 is some science bit, but I know some people who like it.

It basically brings the power figures on the day down to a standard that allows you to compare from one day to the next. The RR machine measures temp, air pressure etc. (ambient) and does some sums to bring the measured output to a 'standard atmosphere'. Don't remember the numbers, but like 15 degrees C and 1000 mbars, or something. Don't ask me, I don't work here :-))

Erm, why not ? It had had it's 1000 mile service so was free 'to rev the gonads off it' as you put it (so nicely).

And I'm sure Rich will appreciate you calling him a plonker :-)

Cheers

Cheers Ian,

From what your saying it seems that there is a standard by which we can all compare our cars, despite the weather/atmospheric conditions of the day. Good
