UK 300 / Sti Prodrive
#1
After years of drooling after the scooby imprezza I am finally in the position to be able to buy one. It may seem an obvious question but Can anyone tell me the differences between the UK 300 spec and the sti Prodrive.

UK 300 is based on a wrx ppp. the sti ppp is obviously based on the sti. so basically the STi PPP has more power and suretrack diffs front and rear. bigger brakes as well. probably other bits and bobs which don't spring to mind.

front lights
bumpers
grills
brakes (brembos vs std subaru)
LSD
interior trim
6 speed gearbox
rev limiter buzzer/warning light
suspension stiffer
water spray system
large spoiler
sti stickers
red manifold top and few uprated engine parts
what money u paying for them? as this will change my mind on what to go for!!!

I have a UK300 (until the end of this month and then i am getting shot of it), it is nowhere near the STI in overall driving stakes (yes i have drove one on several occasions), and i also have the PPP package (240-250hp with PPP vs 276 as standard or 300 ish with PPP on the STI). The STI is far more pointable, takes off and is marginally quicker to 60, but after that I do not have the stats, but assume 100 is much quicker at coming up. No doubt others on here will add their comments.
Dependent on the price difference, assume the STI is likely to be the better deal, even if the UK300 is a limited edition, it was over priced in the beginning (as most of us UK300 owners will agree) in comparison to the STI when that was launched later on.
Cheers

Well ProperCharlie gave an interesting answer...not necessarily the correct one.
The UK300 is a limited edition (300 off) based upon the standard 2 litre WRX. The interior is almost identical to the STi with the Alcantara seats and trim, the exterior has nice striking 18in alloys, WRC replica headlamps and a Thunderbirds rear wing, both from Prodrive. See http://www.iwoc.co.uk/my2001uk300.html for further details of the UK300.
The STi Prodrive (Style) is the STi UK which has a front air dam arrangement around the bumper instead of the normal STi foglight covers, a really big rear wing, and side mouldings along the sills. The dash clock on the instrument panel is also blue in colour. See http://www.iwoc.co.uk/my2002stiuk.html for further details.
The standard WRX engine in the UK300 puts out around 215PS whilst the STi puts out 265PS. Both are available with the Prodrive Performance pack which adds around 35bhp.
