IMHO It looks just as bad as the bug-eye.
I've said it before but, it needs some of the extra cosmetic air vents of the MY96-onwards to give it a bit of aggression, a bigger front bumper intake wouldn't go a miss either.

Bloddy hell U think the 00 looks more aggresive than the 03 ?
The 02 and now the 03 have come on leaps and bounds over the old shape in many different ways.
And yes i have had and 97 , 00, 01 , and now 03 on the drive.

So tell me , Is this just a panic stop gap until the new one comes out in a couple of years. So how many people will buy one & loose another fortune, after all the sneak pics of the next "ALL NEW???" model should be out in about 18 months, then the 8 will probably be worth who knows how much.
If you like the looks import one, the usual applies more car for less dosh, you might even get a decent engine spec!!!.

why do ALL the Subaru ranges from 93-03 look like toyota corollers.
They all have the same basic front end shapes, same designed headlights....Pah...do the japs even know how to design an original car...
I love my classic wrx..but its kind pissing me off....lol
even the new 2003 model looks like the new 2003 coroller...lol
tha shame pf it.

I think more frequent re-designs is a good thing.
Face it, Subaru left the last impreza practically unchanged, with only minor revisions, for 7 years. Not many manufacturers would do this.
You don't buy a car as an investment, or a fashion accessory... They *want* you to feel compelled to have the latest and greatest, and if they keep making better cars as the reason to change, then change we will

Not a fashion accessory more simple than that, most people cant spell SUBURU IMPREZZZA, I blame it on the soap opera society we live in .

I don't understand you lot... you are all driving THE performance car on the planet but you are complaining it looks like a shed. Who cares that it's not the best looking car. That's not what owning a scooby is all about.
Take pity on all those Audi TT owners in their sexy lookers who all complain that they just wished Audi had put more into the performce as they had the looks.

Subaru have lost the plot like ford did with the xr3i.I wonder how many folks that owned classics will buy another scoob, dont think i will because the scoob has lost that presence it used to command and they look ****e now,i shall be keeping my00 and would prefer the evo,the front end looks like them orrible granadas and the rear is even worse.

The rear of an STI 8 doesnt look hugely differnent to the old shape P1 (big rear wing etc). The front does, but after looking in the gallery at P1/old shape pictures you realise how dated the old shape looks. Bit like looking at an old shape Nissan Primera.
The old shape looked great in its day, but that was a while ago. Its needs its free bus pass.
Whilst the scoop is rather large on the STI 8, the rest of it looks great. As for the EVO VII/VIII. Might look OK on the outside, but the inside makes wormwood scrubs look inviting. I'm sure the Mitsubishi engineers were having a large sweepstake on how cheap and tacky they could make the interior look. The scoob looks like a Bentley in comparision. My Grandads Maxi had more appeal.
Fashion has moved on, but there are those that will still buy cork tiles and old shapes
JOnathan
neither an old shape or new shape owner. For now
