Just arrived back from 2 weeks holiday in the Maldives, to find my STi7 parked diagonally in its parking space @ Parking Express Heathrow with the back end all smashed in!

"Allegedly" airport contractors use the car park as a short cut and the result is very upsetting indeed.

If anyone can do me a favour and post some photos on my behalf I would be very grateful. Post back to to help me out. Sorry I'm pap on computers???

I need some big advice then after to sort this **** up out!

Sorry to hear about this, but why did you park your pride and joy there in the first place ?

Surely getting a hire car for the trip to and from would have been safer ?

Anyway good look getting it sorted

Normally more safe at airport than home, I live in East London with no garage!

I've been shafted here big style, wait for the photos!

Edited to say I thought I found the most safe place I could find.

I don't know if I want to see them

I bet it cost you a fortune to park as well and as normal they takes ya money and says parked at owners risk

It P***** me off that these parking companies get away with it

Believe me this one will end up in court. I'm devastated!

Spoke to quite a few locals who told me how this probably happened, then took loads of photos to support the unofficial view.

Even the car park staff told me what happened (unofficially of course!). I'm jetlagged and totally gutted! Speaking to the top fella tomorrow to sort this out.

Do you know how to post photos?

Where is Mutant Matt when you need him?

Cheers

Paul

Deep,

Good to hear your support. I've just e-mailed a few of the photos. "Welcome home Paul"

Judging by your many recent posts, it sounds like you've got some potentially serious plans for your motor. Good man. Any views on when BR can do wonders with the cam timing?

Ed,

Not far from you. Britannia Village, Royal Victoria Dock. You can spot me a mile off, noisy car with a rough rear end!

Cheers

Gutted for you. I left my Scoob at Stanstead for 3 days and was convinced I would have dinged doors when I got back, but I was lucky.

There was a guy a while back with a mint Porshe 928 who had it written off IIRC by an airport parking emplyee. I seem to remember he got a "reasonable" result in the end (considering the circumstances). If anyone can remember where the website is, it might be worth digging out to get a few pointers as to course of action etc.

From what I've heard, this is very likely to be an airport employee also.

Having trouble with e-mail tonight, I think the files are too big. Be patient though!

When they arrive on the BBS, photo#3 is the best. Back end of car is about 1.5m from where I parked it.

For info, the one way arrows on the road point the opposite way from the impact as well. Big tranny van is my guess, very little paint on the car other than a smidging of white! looks like a big bumper job!

Floor of boot is slightly bent, IC water bottle is smashed & LHS back wheel geometry knackered (judging by tyre wear driving home). Would love to find the ****. Parking Express are apparently checking the CCTV I was parked under.

Check the sales literature everything sounds much better there!

Cheers Darren,

Pics e-mailed.

Liability has not been directly admitted (unofficially I have been told who probably did this??!) but also at least 2 people who work there have told me they are checking BAA & ONXY contractors vehicles for damage. Nobody at Parking Express has yet said 'sh*t happens' which I expected. All I'm getting is people looking at their toes and saying: speak to the Director, which I am tomorrow.

I was reluctant to move the car until I understood what had happened. During this period I saw and photographed many contract vehicles entering at high speed through a exit only gate (non-public), which happens to be on a bend next to my motor, supporting what I had been told unofficially. Apparently it was very snowy & icy last Thursday when this happened?

I even got pulled up by an airport security guy for taking photos of the restricted exit (entry?) point. Wnaker!

As implied above, yes these people have no responsibility for little punter knocks in their premises but if they ignore their own rules for restricted access and local contractors use these car parks as high speed rat runs then I believe I have a good arguement here (hopefully!).

Gutted for you mate. I hope the security cameras show up something. Not the sort of thing you want to happen at anytime never mind on return from a holiday.

Still can't get the appropriate person @ Parking Express to speak to me on the phone! He has either 'just left the office' or 'is currently in a meeting' and is not bothering to return my many calls.

Quote from sales literature: 'Parking Express - driving parking standards forward' & 'At Parking Express we pride ourselves on the highest overall standard of service'

Last time I used these people the car was returned in perfect condition, but the 'yoof' who dropped it off made the following comment "You're car's well fast mate". How did he know this?

Just decided not to use them whilst I'm away next week.

Paul, damaged at heathrow, not surprised. Had my UK300 keyed in the Park n Fly by Terminal four about 6 months ago (top of the boot which was facing into one of the sliproads), not what you expect when there are some far more prestigous marques around, or all those camera's for that matter. Hope it gets sorted soon

Cheers

Jim
