Allegedly...
Concern about salt and brine eating into the surface of the carriageways at Spaghetti Junction has caused engineers to find a different solution to preventing the formation of ice.

a similar thing was proposed to prevent salt killing street trees. AFAICR it was proposed at that time to use cow p!ss. I don't remember who was going to get the job of taking the p!ss out of the cows.
