....theres bound to be some new drivers on here so why not let them/me/us/you learn the easy way & not the hard way(dont be afraid to insult anyones intelligence as no-one knows it all)
Right i'll start with ...
Watch out for black ice under overhanging trees (sun melts treetops ,drips onto shaded road argh)and on approach to side street juntions where cars re-melt frost (tyre friction)and it re-freezes into black ice...nasty .

How about:
Scoobies are subject to the same laws of physics as all other vehicles. If you can corner faster than other vehicles, you are also subject to falling off the road faster than other vehicles if things go wrong.
Big wide tyres and 4wd may be great on tarmac, but in snow you will find the ABS and wide tyres are more of a liability. Fiestas running on tiny thin tyres with no abs will be able to make better progress than your rallycar replica in some circumstances.

whenever overtaking always imagine what will happen if the car in your lane also decides to pull out.
NEVER drive such that your braking distance is further than your line of sight on road.
if you ever do the country road run at night, make sure you have a good set of driving lamps (start from as little as £20)
if you cane your car, do it on roads you know like the back of your hand.

Assume every other road user is an idiot who will do the most unlikely thing possible. 9 times out of 10 they'll not do it, but the 1 time they do could be verrrry nasty. Anticipate the idiots.
I used to think that this didn't apply to scoobs, or other "performance" cars but that's been proven wrong on many occasions...
