Having owned a Cavalier Turbo before my MY98 UK Turbo i miss the extra cog in the 'box and also the heated door mirrors (they come in handy up here, especially at this time of year!).
Having said that, the Scoob more than makes up for it in other departments.

I miss...
having a decent interior
having an almost indestructible engine
not having to worry about my clutch
having a car that nobody recognizes
rear wheel drive antics
nissan badges to remove
Things that almost make up for it....
wet weather grip
4 doors
handling
my smug grin when i tell people i drive an impreza

Miss - Heated front window (on cold mornings anyway).
Don't - Heated front windows ability to crack when breathed on.
Miss - Rear Wash/Wipe.
Don't - Erm...
Miss - Glovebox with interior lighting.
Don't - Glovebox that opened when you shut the boot.
Miss - Ability to wheelspin out of junctions just to hear the tyres make that lovely scrabbling sound.
Don't - The wife telling me to behave myself pulling out of junctions.
Cheers

Soft top for those sunny summer days...
Wait a minute, wasn't there a proto type convertible scoob made, called the operetta or something?? YUCK!
And having 2 cars, that cost the same as the Impreza to run together!

The only thing I miss is a rear wiper. I'm also perfectly happy with the build quality of my STi, including the glove box (with light) which closes properly, the climate control which clears the windscreen in seconds, the "extra cog" () and the heated mirrors (which also clear very quickly )

I miss :-
Door pockets that you can get your hand into. ( SO! annoying )
Better " under thigh " adjustment for the seats.
CD Storage
OK , MPG ... but thats obvious.
Everything else is just fantastic. I can forgive my scoob all of these things anyway. I just dread the day I have to "Grow up" and get a Golf Diesel 150 Still, could be worse eh?

Without a doubt - Cruise control.
Without a doubt - Sunroof.
Heated jet washers, quick defrost screen front and heated mirrors. Sounds poncey, but miss the cool box from my L-Carlton, heated and full electric seat.

From the VTS I miss:
The spray nozzles for the window wipers that gave two 'fans' of water that covered the entire windscreen.
The rear wiper
The speed of the rear demister
The extra assurance of side airbags
The oil temperature gauge
The build quality
The paint quality
The mpg
Not having to worry about the clutch going or the engine blowing up
The headlights (which were cr@p....but still better than the scooby!)
There is probably more!!!!
Sill, I love the scooby to bits and the sound of it makes up for all these other things

From my:
MkII Escort - The retro-look radio
Nissan Micra - The all round 'worry freeness' of running it
Volkswagon Polo - Bullet-proof body work and paint
Ford Fiesta - Heated front windscreen
Ford Focus - Decent cupholders, that could hold a mug of tea and had a removable rubber coaster!
Paul.

Notorious,
All the models since 2000 have the adjustable intermittent wipers and Saxo Boy, they also have the twin jet washer nozzles which do cover the screen.....

Build Quality?
MY01 has better build quality than my Saxo had (I bought both cars new). Everything feels more solid than on the Scoob IMHO - I know you have an older scoob tho.
Agree with the oil temp gauge, and the oil level gauge was OK as well IIRC

Ford Focus - Heated windscreen and mirrors, reach adjustable steering wheel. Windows that shut once I've opened them on the motorway. Steering wheel stereo controls. Air-con. Adjustable intermittent wipe.
VW Golf - paintwork and build quality. Lit and lockable glovebox. Climate control. Decent rear seats. MPG. Decent stereo sound. Intermittent rear wipe. Automatic dimming rear view mirror.

The electronic trip computer thingy from a Vectra SRi.
It used to wake me up when the Av consumption was less than 28 MPG.
Thinking about it, I don't miss it, as it would never get above 20 with the STi.
