A mate used to have one before he wrote it off (couldn't afford a Turbo) and I think they have about 100 bhp as standard.

As for 0 - 60, not sure.

Don't all Impreza's have 4wd? Come to think of it, i can't think of a Subaru, which doesn't have 4wd!

I think the 1.6 was the only Impreza that wasn't AWD. I know the 1.8 and 2.0 did have AWD.

Exclamation

the Impreza 1.8L sold in the USA was FWD, my pal Jamie http://www.subiegal.com rallied one in SCCA Pro Rally this year winning her regional championship and 2nd in the National championship production car class. That has about 110BHP, i would think the 1.6 is about 90BHP? Maybe less.

There were some UK 1.6 Imprezas that didn't have AWD, but did have the AWD drive sticker - Cheam Motors have one as a courtesy car, a silver wagon. Can't remember which model years.

According to this site, the 1.6TS puts out 99bhp. Not sure how reliable this site is though...

Bug eye STi 0-100 = 13.5s
22b 0-100mph = 13s
Subaru Impreza 1.6 TS Sport Wagon 0-100mph = 13.3s

The 13.3s was actually to 60! No 0-100 time was recorded...

Yep I've got a MY95 1.6GL AWD. Ok it's no STi, but I don't reckon I've done badly for a first car

Didn't think you could get UK ones in 1.6 after MY96, though they were still available in Europe? Is yours an import?

Impreza 1.6 (in 1995 anyway) came as GL which has AWD, or something else (not TS but something along those lines!) which were FWD. Both have 88bhp (so it says in the mags/parker website/brochure), but the GL has the extra weight of 4WD and dual range 'box, so is 1 - 2 secs slower to 60 I think, the 1.6GL figure being 13.6 secs.

The bug eye MY01/02 UK Imprezas also come in 1.6, but the power is now upped to 100bhp ish and they're a fair bit quicker, and still have AWD.

Hope that's helpful

Ben
