If was to remove a cat or two (not research what I can and can't do) on my MY02 WRX would it invalidate my Subaru UK warranty - I've opted out of our company car scheme so do need to retain the warranty but I do want some more power now I'm passed the 1000 mile mark, seems a little sluggish below 3000 rpm.
Forgot to add that its got the PPP kit fitted currently
Thx

The general concensus seems to be you can remove the back and middle cats, as long as you leave the one in the downpipe in place. That is the position I am in ....
anyhow there are sure to be some more authoritative people on here who can tell you more ....

I'm pretty sure it will, although perhaps it will depend on what (if anything) goes wrong with the car.
Surely a full de-cat can't be linked with a malfunctioning electric window switch (although saying that Subaru would probably say the extra vibrations from the exhaust rattled the window too much )
From stories I've read on here, warranties are a lot like car insurance in that companies will do all that they can to avoid paying out.
I'm sure someone with more experience will post a better reply.

DaveR - did you have the car pre de-cat? Just wondered what the difference in noise is, I do a lot of motorway driving and currently with PPP it's pleasant at 70, not too loud.

As regards noise levels, I got backbox and centre section from TSL (Group N spec). It certainly makes the car louder
HOwever its not intrusive IMO, and makes the lovely burble that a subaru should have
I can only recommend getting it done, although leave the cat in the downpipe in place if you don't want to endanger your warrany
cheers
