Airfield Day - last minute
#1
I have an Airfield day (North Weald) booked for Monday 16th with 1st Lotus
www.carlimits.com
it is a four person day and they still have a couple of places left. I was on the phone to them this morning and they asked if I would not mind putting a post on to mention the spare places.
No idea how good this is going to be yet but I booked on the strength of recommendations from other Scoobynetters. I pay the same whether there are two of us or four and I guess I get more time if there are only two, might be more fun with more cars though. The other guy is bringing an Elise apparently.

So can I - Andrew is a great driver and very good instructor. North Weald is a great venue as there is loads of space and nothing to hit!

Spent a day with Andrew earlier in the year, and can tell u it's gonna be a lot of fun. It's a good idea to up your tyre pressure as the day can be (very) heavy on tyres.
cheers, James

strange but when i went on the course they deflated my tyres even though i had set mine as standard the day before.
apparently too high a pressure meant too much understeer for the high speed bend
also the high pressure was supposed to be affecting my stopping distance
i would suggest to take a pressure gauge on the day, as mine was used for my own car and the other people too.

An enjoyable day - only people that live in Milton Keynes go around in circles more often I think.
The outside edge of your tyres take some hammer, increasing the pressure is definitely a good idea.
If you want to learn how to handle and play with your car on the limit then this is for you. Andrew, the instructor, is happy to tailor the excercises to your current abilities and knowledge so you get the most out of the day.
I will be going again.
