Right, after successfully filling 1 position through Scoobynet (well done Dogmaul), we have another position available....

Senior Network Engineer:

Looking for someone with very good technical server-side skills in NT, 2000 & reasonable knowledge of AD. You must have implemented at least 1 Exchange 2000 mail solution.
This is a permanent position & will be a superb role for the right person, NT4 domain migration to either 2K or possibly/probably .Net next year, this includes 6 countries (some multi-site) & 6 UK sites, with 1000+ user base.

Use my works e-mail or DDI number to apply:

nick.williams@minorplanet.com
0113 3467209 (direct line)

Based in Leeds.

my god, halfway down the page after 30mins
ttt you go.......

edited to add - yes, unfortunatly it's not enough for anyone to relocate, but you could commute from Sheffield or York.
There is a car with this position (for the right person), however it's only a Merc A class, so a balaclava would be required for travel to & from work

Thats not a senior Network Engineer - Thats a senior "server muppet" .

Network Engineers use routers and switches and other manly stuff

dsmith, you are correct & I did have this very talk with my boss the IS Manager. In my eyes a network engineer is as you say, routers, switches etc & will have come from a server background.

dogmaul, you didn't get it on your technical merit, it was because you love cars & are a big film watcher....as I am you will now have access to all the best FTP servers that are available for free

ps - you did get it on your technical skills actually!! the other stuff was a bonus.

cheers david, wondered how long it would take....
don't be fooled lads, I am VERY technical in certain areas
as for the kickboxing, I'm just getting back into shape, nearly 16stone at the moment

Daviid, give me a ring about the other position, although IIRC you don't have a mail & AD background do you ??
It's a shame as you have a lot of other skills that would be very useful....(scooby's that is), not to mention you know a little bit of IT as well

i hope so i sat in a clio yesterday and must admit it sounded rather bloody good well the sound of an ant farting is rather more plesant than the sound of a 1.6 primera but im taking it out for a spin at lunch but its sitting on 17's with zero profile tires so i dunno how it will feel. also i worked out im getting just over 29mpg in the primera

Some it knowledge.. PAH.. been working in this industry since I was 15.

I would give you a bell but Ive lost your number..

Cool

Well, I'd fit the bill for the job if it weren't in Leeds Done 3 Exch installs in the last week

Can I telework from Ireland or Cambs?

Seeing as how you work @ MinorPlanet, how's your integration with GPRS coming along or are you lot not going to bother? Do you see a future in it? I've done a lot of work with GPRS/GPS stuff..

Shame it's in Leeds.
I have done many migration implimentations from NT4 to Win2k and Exchange 5.5 to Ex2k.
Desgined and implimented AD infrastructures into many well known Blue chip companies.
MCSE and other stuff that always looks good on a cv
Can you not move the office nearer to my house

PTMW & iceman - minorplanet seem to be doing very well as they are hiring when all else are downsizing, they must be doing something right ???

there hasn't been much interest in this position which suprises me, 28k & a car isn't bad at the moment & I'm not asking for 8 years experience etc etc....just some real experience on mail & some AD...

12 o'clock tomorrow for some dinner it is then, I'll give you a ring before hand. 1 hour dinner, 55 minutes car talk & 5 mins on the network position then

ps - I am keeping my car now.
pps - I expect free upgrades to my car if you get the job

Shunty

Didn't say it was interesting, just it's location Teleworking & I'd be there... Also interested in the tracking side & implementation.

Wouldn't want a company car though - they'd always be tracking me
