Me in my UK Turbo Vs 330Ci, West London dual carriageway. Raced him for about a mile through a series of bends and straights. Easily nailed him. Got to a busier section so I slowed down and hazarded him. Race over. But what does the kn0b do? He floors it on a busy road right past me as if to prove something. It's like trying to have the last word when you've lost the arguement. Pointless really.

Standard disclaimer: PC Brigade can go and play kiss-chase with illegal immigrants!

Only the other day when I was out in the beemer, some **** in a scooby thought he was having a race with me. I finally got the chance to press on after he got caught in traffic.

Pratt! Sounds to me like you weren't racing and he was. There is a dangerous difference IMO between someone that has the 'I'm racing' mentality and someone who respects other cars and is thinking 'this is fun, wow, that car is quick/slow/etc'

I never ever race.....winning is not important unless your karting or similar!

Hazard lights = race over? I'm not entirely sure this is universal

He may have thought "hazards = blown engine. Not reliable these tuned jap things" . He may not have been racing, just either a to55er driving everywhere at very high speed, or have a genuine reason to be in a hurry (pregnant wife?)

Also, different people's ideas of when it is safe to race are different. Some people would argue it never is on the publuc road, he may have thought it was safe to continue. Different sorts and all that (OK his sort may have been undesirable!)

True, but as long as your not being hot-headed and racing then as soon as you feel its not safe to continue you'll stop. What the other person does thereafter is irrelevant as you can't be resonsible for their actions. That's why it important IMO not to have the 'racing' mentality because that'll make you push yourself harder for longer to try and win. If you're trying to 'win' on the public roads then, yes, you're likely to kill someone someday

But you hadn't won the race?
You should floor it until you get to your destination. You'll then be smug in the knowledge that either they pulled over to cry as they had lost or they pulled off to go their own direction.
Once you have pulled up at your direction, the rules state that you should hang around for five minutes with keys in hand to wave at them and pull a false yawn.
Hazards are not a recognised method of ending a race - does Schuey do this? - I think not.
If you want to depart from std methods of street racing then please advise your co-racer accordingly.
I expect to see a post on a BMW forum saying how a Scooby owner couldn't take the pace.
Street racing - be brave - be big - be a man.

Cool

Hmmm - it was obvious that I wasn't 'racing' when I put the brakes on and speed dropped to a mere 30mph with hazards on - and there was still a bit of empty road ahead of my if I wanted to cane it. To be fair the 330ci is fast and there wasn't a huge gap...Just the last bit probably made him feel that he annhilated a scoob!

You made a flaw in your race plan m8. Once you'd got past him and had had enough you should have pulled directly in front of him, put on your hazards then. He would have thought something up ahead and slowed right up. Then you nail it to the floor again.
By the time he realises - you've gone.

Had same kind of experience a couple of weeks back.

Had a bit of race passed and acknowledged (once again a 330ci) through a series of twisties about 9-10 miles in all. Then I came to 30 limit through a village, having respect for the residents I stuck to the limit which lasted a couple of miles or so. As I approached the end of the village I saw said 330 in y review and he was approaching very very quickly, he passed me still in 30 limit and he must have been doing close on 90+, out of limit I nailed it and again passed him through some nice roads I know very well again acknowledged the guy.

Once again approach another village which I live a couple of miles out of. AND THIS IDIOT DOES THE SAME THING AGAIN.

To say I was amazed was an understatement.

Not picking on BM drivers but I had an M5 sit up my *** through same village and then halfway through one accelerate past at a stupid speed,,, "Y" for god sake.

Dave T-S,
You have about as much intelligence as a Kosovan refugee who goes around mugging old ladies.

Unhappy

Suggesting I am Co55ie is perhaps the greatest insult one can pay me on this BBS.

He has no friends and therefore feels the need to come to a Subaru forum (as it is rather a gay and friendly 'we all love you' place to be).

FFS, wasn't he getting a Focus RS? Enough said!

Well Done!

Three cheers for you! You even deserve a gold star, which you can stick on your **** and flash in your local pub.

Good to see the PC brigade in full effect. One day you will realise what you cost this country.

Grow up!

I am hardly being politically correct when you unnecessarily use the word "Aryan" in a thread title to use as sick humour, with the obvious Hitler connotations of that word, and I ask for your thread to be deleted.

It isn't a question of being politically correct, it's a question of being sensitive to other people - there are a number of Jewish people on this board some of who may well have relatives or ancestors that were persecuted/gassed or whatever by the ***** in the second world war. This is something I doubt you would understand

Dave T-S,

Your ignornace obviously precedes you.

I used that term in the meaning of the prehistoric people who spoke Proto-Indo European.

In no way do I support Hitler, and I am quite frankly shocked you mentioned it. I have immediate family who died in both World Wars I'll have you know, so it is a subject that is very close to my heart.
