New him well through Beechdale. The guy always had time for a chat, was always genuinely interested in your car and any problems you might have with and got it put right without any fuss.
Just got back from Beechdale this morning after having my Scoob serviced and they are all really gutted throughout the company, but still ensuring business as usual.
I believe that there is going to be a collection for his family. They have promised to keep in touch with me regarding this so when I know something I will post it up.

David Wood from Beechdale Subaru Derby/Notts died on Tuesday from criticle injuries as a rusult of a car accident on 25th November.
My thoughts are with his familly and friends at this very sad time.
He was a friend and a superb rally driver. Personal memories of being a passenger with him driving around Donnington will stay with me.
Rest in peace Dave.

Very sad. I only met him a few times through services and a couple of minor problems with the car. But the thing is, no problem seemed too small for his full and knowledgeable attention.
A genuine guy and my thoughts are with his family.

very sad news indeed,
i knew david fairly well, as he was generous enough to sponsor the beechdale saab order of merit, for all the golf pros in derbyshire for the last few years.
had the pleasure of his company for a few rounds around the county.
always remember him for the big warm smile he gave everyone he met.
thoughts for his family.

David was an incredible person. I've known him for about 4 years now after initially making friendship via my interest in Subarus.
Watching Dave and Les in the forests was just an amazing sight - and being in a car with him was just something else. I often thought David was a little wasted in Grp N - he has been setting better stage times and placing higher in rallies than many WRC cars which is a credit to his ability.
I will miss him deeply.
My thoughts are with his family and friends.
Rest well David.

I recieved an email from Les Waterfall joint owner of Beechdale Motor Group and it reads as follows:
Hi Ady
One of you members called the dealership this morning and left a message for me, suggesting that I have a look in the forum at all the messages of condolence which had been posted.
I have just been on scoobynet and I feel so touched by the kindness and heartfelt words that I wanted to post a reply. Unfortunately, I am not a member so I wondered if you would be so kind as to post the thanks of both the family and myself please.
As you know, David was involved in a horrific accident up in the Peak District a week last Monday and passed away peacefully on Tuesday night in the presence of his family. Despite Dave's strength, fitness and determination, the injuries proved just too much, even for Dave and he will be sadly missed by everyone who knew him.
I had the pleasure of being his co-driver for eight years and I feel very proud to have been allowed to share the car with him. When we were on an event, we had a menu of little sayings that meant so much to both of us. Just a couple of words which we both understood which saved several sentences. I would like to close this email by sharing one with you which I said to Dave on many occasions at the end of a stage;........."class act Woody!"
