what job do you recommend?
I know a lot of you have a wide range of experience with different careers so thought I would get your thoughts on this.
I've got a mate who is 23 (still young), got a first class degree in computer & electronic engineering and who is technically a genius(massive IQ, creative thinker) with a good grasp of advanced maths, physics and technology. He is working for a software company which is going down the pan at present but is capable of learning anything or doing any job given the right instruction and thinks it might be time for a career shift.
Anyone got any good job/career recommendations? Considering the guy is willing to learn/do anything, what would you suggest going into?(not necessarily computer related)
Preferably something that will earn a packet and/or have good future prospects?
I await some interesting responses!

try something other than computing....There's far too many people in the computing umbrella at the moment.
Have a go at being a fireman....you get lot's of creative thinking time with them on the 'part time' day job.
all Allegedly speaking of course

I would say go for a job in research and/or developement of computer or telecoms systems.
Both will pay well and the rewards will be seeing eventually what you have been working on on paper and building models of, become a real life piece of equipment that could be used on a world wide basis
