Hello all,
I am after some information as I am looking to buy an Impreza Turbo (assuming I find the right one). I am looking to buy a '97/'98/'99 model.
I have been an integrale owner for the last 8 years until March '02 when a huge accident ended the life of evo2.
I am after information regarding reliability and general build quality.
What kind of mileage could you expect from the OE clutch? Is there an uprated clutch that is usable for everyday driving?
Is the drivetrain as weak as I hear it is? or is that as much as myth as saying integrales are unreliable? If it is the case, is there a fix?
How often do suspension parts need looking at / replacing? Struts/bushes/drop links (if applicable)/topmounts.
Is there any certain year models that should be avoided / approached with caution (I read a post on here stating '97/'98 models can suffer from piston slap....true or false?)
Any information would be grateful, I apologise if you have had this kind of post before, I did take a quick look through the posts but could not find anything.

Cheers.

I'm no expert... I have a MY99 and after reading up I have found that it has a phase 2 engine which was to resolve the piston slap problem and also the ecu is different.

Hope this helps alittle and you get the car you want.
