The interior was identical to the S202 actually, just without the limited edition number plaque.

sorry

Y3m is the list price for STis, & if u're going to get a new car, u can get very low-interest finance & freebies thrown into the deal.
2nd hand prices are lower than in UK, cos of the big depreciation.
No Subaru letters on the bootlid cos JDM cars put the emphasis on model names rather than brand name (JDM Subarus doesn't have large Subaru letters on the bootlid, be it Impreza, Legacy or Forester). Remember the models names are foreign words, whereas the brandname is Japanese, foreign things are always considered to be 'higher-class' in Japan.

I thought it looked awsome and the scoop was much better in the flesh

I forgot to say, i was out in Japan with my Japanese friend and he got the sales man to take us out for a test drive. The sales man was more than happy and got rather heavy footed

One of the coolest gizmos is a red light on the rev counter that can be set to a certain rev value - when you hit that value e.g. 7.5 it beeps and flashes at you !!!! The demo car had it set to 8.0 and he hit it 3 times on the test drive !!!

if only i had the spare cash around

Yes, this car was launched in the Paris show some time ago (& also shown in NEC), but Japan is the only place so far where u can actually buy & take delivery of the MY03 now.

What did it go like, must be slow if you want to watch the red light coming on.

Has it lost the flat 4 burble due to new manifold/twin scroll turbo setup?

Are those wheels standard on the JDM?

Cool

Why don't they put the Subaru lettering on the boot?
Erm, because it's an STI, not a Subaru? No JDM STI has ever had the Subaru badging across the rear of the car.

In fact, no JDM Subarus ever put 'S U B A R U' on the back, be it an Impreza, Forester, Legacy, Pleo, Vivio, or a SVX.

I've also recently returned from a visit to the Land of the Rising Sun. Went to the Subaru Building in Tokyo and they had a new MY03 STi in their showroom. Have an interior shot for one_lung.

First time for adding pics, hope they work!

Chris.
