Question

Has anyone had a quickshift fitted. My car is on order from Holland and I have the option of a quickshift for £190. Do they make a difference. Are they worth it ?
Thank you in advance.

I knew you were alive.....!!!

Anyway - general opinion is that MY00 Quickshift isn't really worth paying for - the throw is fairly short anyway.
Spend the money on the Impreza's weakest point - the lights - & get some Cibies or PIAA spots.

agreed the My00 shift is short but like all scoobs the box takes miles to loosen up, someone said its great after 10k (which was true on my sport) but I hope it wont take as many on my turbo

Also agreed - my MY00's gearshift is just as good as the MY98(?) with quickshift that I test drove. If anything, having the slightly longer throw makes for a more positive action with less effort - I certainly prefer it. Spend your £190 on petrol!

I've got the quickshift on my MY2000Plus, that I bought 1 month old, since the very enthusiastic dealer himself started driving the by a customer cancelled car and had put the quickshift on the car for himself.
Must say that when testdriving the car, I didn't notice the difference with my old MY98.
It was only after he told me it had the quickshift and I compared it with the old car that I did notice the difference.
However, I heared that from MY98-on the throw was improved a lot and when driving a MY97 I noticed that the throw on that car was a lot longer. I would definatly recommend the quickshift for the MY97, but don't feel much need for it on the MY98-on.

Thumbs up

Mine has it cos I used to have a '97 Sport for comparison. It's ace. But I've never known any different. Maybe with all mods, try the standard first, then decide.
