I've done a search on this and it didnt reveal any amazing facts..

(MY99) - is it possible to easily disable the passenger airbag ?
Something that anyone has done ?

I find myself in the odd situation of wanting to "modify" the car for no performance gains

Would like to know also, though have heard that you can't do it simply. Someone did mention a 'hardwire' fix (ie cutting the bloody wire), let me know if you find out anything more useful.

PS: I find myslef in the same 'mod for no
performance gain' ie. having a baby, boat

Lee, suggest you go and buy a continental Pug 306. Latest ones have key-disabled passenger bag for child seat safety etc. etc.

If this doesn't appeal, owing to ssociated performance and handling downgrade - not to mention wheel on the wrong side, suggest you araldite (sp?) the seams.

as I replied in the last thread on this, I gave up the idea - though C+K in Manchester were confident it could be done by adding a dummy circuit with the same resistance as the passenger airbag - that way the driver airbag could be left active - there is some risk involved in doing this - possibility that the bag might deploy (!) - dangerous + expensive to replace if all went wrong.

I am now 6 months into fatherhood and having the little one in the back is definitely preferable to having her in the front - I don't need to see the vomit to know its there ;-)

why dont you ask IM technical, this is hardly a new topic in the UK is it.

I would be amazed if they dont have a kit to do this.
