The Scooby is dead.

I'm not talking about another sad accident, but the demand (or more precisely lask of demand) for Scoobs anymore.
My first Scoob was an MY99 which I paid £21k for (mug) from a UK dealer. I kept it for 18 months and then sold it to thr first viewer for £17k. Since then, insurance prices have gone up and the price of Scoobs has gone down so much it is hard to believe these cars were so much in demand such a short time ago.
Perhaps its the looming recession, perhaps it's fuel prices, insurance, cheap imports, new models or just plain image. Whatever the reason, there are over 850 Scoobs for sale in Autotrader alone this week and nobody seems to want them.
I currently have an MY02 due for delivery in December but am considering cancelling this and getting something that will retain its value/desireability a bit better.
I think the age of the performance car is coming to an end - much like in the late 80's.

Look at the silly prices a lot of people are asking/expecting for their cars. That's the problem. MY97's for £13500, I don't think so.

PS I just paid £10600 for MY99 , 30000 miles
